Have been having problems with my machine and during this time the system
looked at an old out of use email account and found I had 110 unread emails.
I have not used this account for 2 years so am not interested in the content.

Now each time I open my XP account the mail counter says 110 unread emails,
can it be reset??

Easiest way is to install TweakUI

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Open TweakUI, then go to "Repair" and select "repair unread mail count"
