How do I replace pictures in show to keep original time/animate?

I need to take an existing show and replace pictures with new ones. The
challenge is that I want to keep it in the same slot as the old picture in
reference to timing, soundtrack, and animation. There may be several pictures
included in one slide that fade in and out. I need to replace each one.

You can't do this in PPT unless you've added your photos as background fills
to autoshapes.

As Echo referenced, the only way to do this with native PPT tools is to fill
autoshapes with a photos.

But you can use the PPTXtreme import/export add-in to do this (and more). On
the website, note the 'replace picture' on the right-click menu.
