How do I remove unwanted tabs on the templates dialogue box

When I want to create a new document from user defined templates I have
redirected word to look in the correct place on my server, this works fine,
but on the template dialogue box, which appears when creating a new document
from templates, there are a number of tab headings, some of these are my user
defined locations and some are preset headings which I would like to remove
so as to simplify the display a little...how do I do this? I am using Office
2003
 
The installed templates can be removed only by rerunning setup to uninstall
them. The user-defined tabs can be removed by deleting (or merging) the
corresponding folders.
