How do I remove Trojan Horse ??????

T

Tracymae

Virus
Trojan horse downloader.Keenval.E

is found in file
C:/Program Files/Common Files\updmgr\updmgr.exe

When I run Anti-Virus System it says:
The virus can not be removed from the infected object by
healing. The entire infected object must be removed, so it
recommends I move it to the
"Move to Virus Vault" but everytime I try to it tells me
it can not be removed.

Someone please tell me what to do, its driving me nuts !!!
Thanks, Tracymae

If your using AVG's Free-Edition it wont let you send
files into the vault. What I would do is go in and
manually delete the file.

Hope i helped,

Hi Tracymae,

Virus
Trojan horse downloader.Keenval.E

is found in file
C:/Program Files/Common Files\updmgr\updmgr.exe
[...]

Open a command prompt (Start > Run > cmd)
type cd\
Open task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del)
Kill explorer.exe from task manager

In the comman prompt, type:
del "C:/Program Files/Common Files\updmgr\updmgr.exe"
(with quotation marks)

Open a task in task manager --> explorer.exe

If still no joy, boot in safe mode (F8) and delete.

Or, you could boot from the XP CD and go to the recovery console and
once there type:
del "C:/Program Files/Common Files\updmgr\updmgr.exe"
(with quotation marks)
