I would like to clean up my desktop so I can display my
favorite wallpaper pictures without any icons covering
parts of it. I want to have the icons available from the
toolbars or taskbar (which I know how to activate them)but
I can't seem to figure a way to hide the "Desktop Folder"
and the "Recycle Bin" icons. Please advise me as to how
to hide these icons, yet keep them functional from the
toolbar/taskbar. Thank you.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for but it's worth a read...
