Change the system BIOS to boot from your CD ROM drive...
Put in your true Windows Xp Installation media...
Turn off the machine - turn it on and when it asks you to 'press any key to
boot from CD' - do so...
Step through the new installa nd when it asks you to CHOOSE which partition
to install on - DELETE all the partitions and CREATE new ones...
Then continue through the steps...

Do not connect to the Internet until you are sure your Firewall is enabled
and then visit only http://windowsupdates.microsoft.com/ and scan
for/install every patch you can - reboot and revisit until you have them
all. (Excluding any for hardware drivers - get those from the actual
hardware manufacturer...)

That's it. You will lose every file you do not backup and you will have to
manually reinstall every application you are used to running...
