How do I reinstall Outlook?

Several months ago I needed to reinstall Windows XP Home Edition (which I
did) and then install Microsoft Office 2000 (which I did). Ever since then,
every time I exit from Outlook (not Express) I get an error message that says
"Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience." I have tried repairing Outlook but it did not
fix the problem. Would removing and reinstalling Outlook help? Is there
another solution?

Reinstalling might help.

Have you run Microsoft Update to apply the lastest patches and service pack
to it?

I know I am having the same problem. My problem is I bought the Microsoft
Office Professional 2003 and wanted to try the Office 2007 Professional and
when I went to uninstall it, I lost my Microsoft Outlook 2003 an when I tried
to use it, I get errors.

You can only have a single version of Outlook installed, so installing 2007
will have removed 2003
You need to uninstall 2007 before reinstalling 2003
Then post back *full error details*

Yes I did, but this didn't help. (BTW: the 2 threads after yours involve
Office 2007, not my version 2000.) I'm still getting the error message when
I exit the program. Any other ideas?

Did you start off, after your win install with a new data file or did you
migrate your old data file?
Have you searched for and run scanpst.exe on your data file (with OL
closed)?
