How do I reformat Insert pictures from 8 to 2 per page?

How do I reformat insert pictures from, say, 2 to 8 per page and visa versa,
so that I do not have to resize each individual picture?
 
The simpliest method would be to create a table of the required number of
cells (ie 2cols x 4rows), size this to you requirements, then when you Insert
Picture in each cell, they should be resized automatically to fit the cell.
