How do I reduce the size of a file for emailing?

I am trying to reduce a word file so that I can email it to someone. There
is noting in the help menu that tells me how to do this. I have zipped it,
but that does not make is small enough.

You might not be able to make it much smaller without taking something out
of it. How big is it - and what type of content does it have?

If it is so large that zipping it does not reduce it sufficiently for
e-mail, then either send it via Windows Messenger File exchange or put it on
a CD and post it. If you have to do this sort of thing regularly investigate
a file exchange application like TribalWeb.net.
