How do I recover inbox mail? After I read it once it disappears

I'm using Microsoft Outlook in Windows XP - about a month ago my incoming
mail started to disappear from my Inbox after reading it once. It used to
remain for later review; where has it gone? Robert
 
Check your view. it's probably set to unread messages. Go to View, Current
View, and make sure it's not set to Unread mail.
