How do I recover deleted items(this optn is grayed out) once gone

In Outlook I deleted all deleted items and now I need access to a couple of
these messages. When I go to Tools menu and look thru list I have Recover
Deleted Items as an option but it is grayed out and cannot be used. Can I
change this to recover the deleted emails?
 
Hi,

The setting you are referring to is an Exchange Server setting, and can only be used if this option was previously set on the server. This feature is only available if your e-mail delivery
point is set to your mailbox on the Microsoft Exchange Server. Deleted items are stored on the server until they are purged by the user, the system administrator, or by a limit set by the
system administrator.
