How do I put a task into my journal?

Here's my problem: I create a task using the 'new task' feature; for example
task X. Now, I can see task X if I view my list of tasks, but that task does
not appear in my journal view unless I do the following: go to the Task view
and drag task X down to the journal icon, at which point the 'new journal
entry' window opens and I have to specify the date and time for the task etc.
In essence, I am repeating myself. Is it possible to create a task and have
it automatically show up in my Journal view?
I don't simply create a new journal entry because I like the versatility of
viewing my tasks in the task window pane. Help!

Is the task assigned to any contact for whom journalling is turned on? What
happens if you add yourself to the contacts whose activities are journalled?

If you add yourself to the Contacts and then turn Journal on for you, it
should show every Task you make (automatically).
