How do I put a shadow around a picture in FP?

After I insert a picture into a cell or table I try to put a shadow on two of
the sides and the shadow and 3D buttons are greyed out on the toolbar. I'm
trying to make the picture appear to be standing out from the page. What am I
doing wrong?

You'd add a drop shadow to the image in your image editor.

The shadow effects on the FrontPage toolbars will only work with VML
objects created with the toolbars.
