How do I print from Powerpoint onto 4x6 or bus. card photo paper?

I have tried to print a wedding invite onto 4x6 photo paper, but only get a
portion of the print on the 4x6 - as though it was printing on 8x11.

I have tried to fix 'page setup' under 'custom' putting 4x6 into paper size
- but that just reduced the image on the screen.

Similarly - how would one print a business card?

PowerPoint is not really the program you should be using for this type of
project. You should be using something like Publisher, or even MS Word will
do a better job.

Michael's right, there are better programs for this.

But if you've no other choice but PPT, you'll need to set the PRINTER's page
size as well. PowerPoint normally takes the current slide size and scales it
up or down to fit the paper size you've chosen in the printer driver.

So:

Set Slide Size in PPT to either the final size you want or something
proportional to it. You've already done this.

Choose File, Print and in the print dialog box, select the printer you want to
use, then click Properties and choose the correct paper size.

If your printer doesn't support that paper size, you'll need to punt.

Start a new presentation
Set slide size to match a size the printer DOES support
Copy/paste the graphics you've already done into the first slide in this new
presentation.
Size it to 4x6 and add a few cutting lines around the edges

Choose File, Print and make sure there's no checkmark next to "Scale to fit
paper"

Print, then trim your results to size.
