Photosmart 375 Won't Zoom Out

I am sure zillions of people need to reduce the size of the printed
image when the digital camera takes a photo with a 1.33:1 aspect ratio
and you need to have the entire photo printed without the bottom
cut off (4X6 paper= 1.5:1 aspect ratio.) Why can't I figure out how
to do this???? (This is an XD card.)
I would think this would simply require a zoom out before
printing, but the printer won't let me do this. I doubt a malfunction.
What do I do???
Help much appreciated.

Hi.

What you get, when you do manage to get a "Zoom" on the screen, will have no
effect on the real size of the image.

It is just making it look bigger, or smaller, on screen.

What you may need to do, to solve your problem. is to use a Photo Editing
Program, to Crop ( Cut down) the image, so that it will fit onto the paper
size you have specified in the Printer. Almost all of these programs should
have that function.

Some Printers have the ability within their Dialogues to "Size to Fit".
This will not change the proportions of your image, but it will allow it all
to be printed onto the paper, probably with some white margins.

Hi Roy-
I do believe what is on the LCD display is what is printed with
this printer, but I could be wrong.
I know I can do it the way you suggest but my USB cable
(special fitting at printer end) got left at my summer house!
I still find it remarkable that it isn't a simple option in the
preferences menu.
Thanks very much for your help!
