How do I print a page from IE to a pdf or word document?

Instead of printing and then scaning a document or page from the internet to
be able to file it in My Documents, how can I "print" to a pdf file or a Word
document?

You can't "print" to a Word document, although you can usually drag to
select some or all of the page content, copy to the clipboard, and then
paste into a blank document. If you do that, see
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/CleanWebText.htm.

If you install one of the many PDF printer-driver programs such as PDF995
(www.pdf995.com), you can choose that "printer" in the File > Print dialog
of any application, including IE. Some other sites, such as
https://online.primopdf.com/Default.aspx, allow you to enter a URL to
convert and will then email the result to you.

I use PrimoPDF on my laptop to do exactly that. If it's a page I really
want, I print it to a .pdf file and tuck it somehere that will hopefully
make sense down the road.
