How do I prevent going OFFLINE ?

Intermittently, when I open a new browser window, I get a message saying
"Would you like to go offline? No connection to the Internet is currently
available .." even though my hardware seems OK and the Local Area
Connection icon in my system tray says "Connected".

When I click "Try Again" in the message window, the browser immediately
works, so the connectivity is there.

Is there some setting that I should adjust to keep this from happening? Its
mainly just a nuisance, happening a few times a day.

Any comments greatly appreciated.

as best as I can tell there doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.... I
placed the local area icon in my system tray, and when I get this error and
mouse over the icon it says "connected". Also the immediate response after
hitting try again seems to indicate the hardware's ok.

I think it would be a good feature upgrade to lock this Offline mode
permanently OFF. Who needs this if you have a DSL connection.

Still looking for an idea. thx
