how do I prevent deleted email address from re-appearing?

when I type a name in the "send to" block in Outlook I continue to have names
automatically appear that have been deleted from my address book. How can I
prevent this from happening?

That's because the AutoComplete cache for addresses in Outlook 2002-2003 is
not connected to your contacts; it is made up of addresses you've previously
typed into the To, CC and BCC boxes. To delete a single item from the cache,
start typing the address, and when the list pops up, highlight the bad entry
and press Delete.
