Hi,

Using Windows XP Pro:

I have digital cable subscription. My existing TV tuner just shows normal
channels.

Is there any digital cable TV tuner for my PC?

Thank you,

Max

It's usually called your satellite receiver or 'box'. You'll need an extra
one.

Hi Cari,

Thanks for reply.

I got around 300 digital channels. My digital box sends all of them through
channel 3. I can change the program channel through the box's remote.

I also have "ADS Instant TV Video Capture 125 Channel TV Tuner" see:

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=196034&CatId=0

I receive digital channels through channel 3. The big problem is the PC's TV
tuner cannot do the program scheduling. That means My PC's TV tuner cannot
do the automatic schedued recording when I am not home!

What I am looking for is a TV Tuner that can actually switch to specific
**digital channel** and start recording.

Any help would be appreciated,

Max

Dear Max',

Now don't hold me to this, but I was told by someone at CES, that there
would be TV Tuner cards (PCI Express) that support Digital Channels
(including HD) and "Cable Smart Cards" by Xmas this year, and that Comcast
(et al), would have bi-directional smart cards for TV's which therefore
includes computer TV tuner cards. If this holds true, you will be able to
control programs just like a Cable box, which includes ordering Pay Per View
pgms as well. These cards will cost about $900 which, I suspect, will I put
them out of the reach of most users.
