How do I password protect a directory in Word?

Is it possible or can I only protect individual documents? Sorry if I'm
being thick!
 
You can't password-protect a directory from within any Microsoft
Office application. Try asking in the appropriate newsgroup for
your operating system (Windows, Mac, DOS, Unix, Linux, Sun, etc.).
 
....but that doesn't mean it can't be done at all, just that Office isn't
where you'd do it. Try asking in the microsoft.public.windows.file_system
newsgroup.
