Problems to protect a document in Word 2007

I made a filling form in Word 2007. Then I go to Developer-Protect
Document-Allow only...-Filling in form and Yes, Starting Enforcing
Protection. And all is OK. But if I save the document in Compatible mode
(Word 2003) wen I open this save copy and go to Developer-Protect Document
and Stop Protection the Word don't ask for the password and the document is
not protected. How can I made a real protected form? Why he document is not
protected?

If I remember correctly, this was an issue with certain versions of the
software. Have you tried installing the most recent service pack for Office
2007?
