How do I open a folder in Outlook that says cannot be displayed?

I made a new folder in Oulook and stored some private e-mails there. When I
went to read them I clicked on them and got a response unable to display.
Does anyone know how to open this folder?
 
If you are saying that you select the folder and the panel on the right
switches to gray with a message that the folder can't be displayed, then it
sounds like you have a corrupted view. Start Outlook with the /cleanviews
command line switch.
