Thanks for your response Russ. Correction - I'm using office xp at home
which uses outlook 2003. At work I have outlook 2002. I tried
transfering
the contacts from my home to my work PC at my new job. I've done this at
the
prior companies I've worked for and there was never a problem, but here I
keep hitting the same wall - "The file ***.pst is not compatible with this
version of the Personal Folders information service. Contact your
administrator."
Some info that may be helpful in diagnosing:
1. When I save the PST file at home the outlook icon apprears next to the
file name. However after transfering it to my work PC the file there is
no
icon next to the name, i.e. it can not be readily read by any program on
my
work computer.
2. There default email program at work is lotus notes
Thanks for all your help.

I doubt the information you have posted is correct. Check your versions
and
repost with more accurate information. That error message will only arise
when you create a PST file in Outlook 2003 and try to open it in an
earlier
version. You posted that you are using the same version (Office XP uses
Outlook 2002), but you obviously are not using the same version.

I have tried to both email the pst to my work email as well as transfer
it
using a jump drive. Both tries resulted in the same error. Thanks

Any help in overcoming this problem would be greatly appreciated
because I
really don't want to recreate close to 1000 contacts. Thanks
Dave
And how are you physically transferring the pst file?
BTW, Office XP *IS* Office 2002........
