Can I upgrade Outlook 2002 (from Office Xp Pro) to Outlook 2007 ?

I am using Office XP Pro (Outlook 2002), and cannot open saved .pst files
which were created with Office 2007 (Outlook 2007). Is there a way to either
make the files compatible, or to upgrade Outlook 2002 to 2007 ? or even the
whole office pack, without having to repay a full package ?

many thanks

OL data files in native OL2003 or OL2007 format are not readable by earlier
versions.
You can upgrade Office to 2007
NB Upgrading Office or Outlook, doesnt alter the default data file, you
would still need to create a new data file in native (unicode) format & set
that as the default store

Otherwise you would need to in OL2003 or 2007 create a new data file in 97 -
2002 format, copy data to this data file. Close this data file & OL. Then
copy this data file to the new PC, eg Documents folder, before opening it
within OL
