How do I mark text so that is is not checked for spelling?

In a document I am working on (that was created by a previous owner), when I
do a spell check, I get the message TEXT MARKED WITH "DO NOT CHECK SPELLING
AND GRAMMAR" WAS NOT CHECKED.

How do I
1) determine what specific text that is
2) turn that feature off

Sorry, I figured it out. I just needed to browse into some older posts.
 
In Word 2003..
Select the text that you want to check.
On the Tools menu, point to Language, and then click Set Language.
Select the "Do not check spelling or grammar check box".
