How do I make repairs to Word 2003 in safe mode?

In me Student Teacher edition, all other products work. I have tried
uninstalling and re-installing, but to no avail. I have tried the detect and
repair option in the help menu of Word 2003 in safe mode but that attempt
failed as well.
