Can you specify what you are speaking of? Where is the download from?

Microsoft has a couple of new products in this general area, and there has
been some confusion, so it would help to know which one you are referring
to.

installed on the staus bar in the lower right corner

this downloads with auto-updates, not the anti-spyware tool. as I understand
it.

That's a malicious software removal tool, not the beta antispyware tool.

Several people in these newsgroups now are confusing the two tools.
