How do I make checkboxes automatically filled on clicking?

I need to be able to add checkboxes to a word document that enable me to go
through and automatically click on a series of names and have them be
automatically filled. Currently, I have to go in individually and change the
properties on each checkbox.

Enable the document protection, for example by clicking the Protect
Document button on the Forms toolbar; that way, you'll be able to click
the check boxes to change their checked/unchecked status. For more, see
