How do I make Access 2003 not open a new window for each command?

We're using a customized version of Access 2003 with buttons for various
commands and reports to generate. I typically go through two or three clicks
to get to the information that I'm looking for. With each click, I get an
entirely new window. The old version on my old computer didn't do this, and
I wish that I could get this one to QUIT!

Have I explained this adequately?
 
Open up in design view
Select Tools: Options
Select the View tab
Uncheck "Windows in Taskbar"
