How do I mailmerge records that need to be grouped by name?

I would like to mailmerge data from Access grouped by customer name to form a
customer invoice. So there are multiple records to appear on one page
grouped by customer.

I would like to avoid creating an Access report as the template is already
set up in Word and includes lots of wording and graphics.

Rather then merging, a better approach would be to fill a Word table with the
Access data. You'll find a demo of various Access to Word operations using

If you wanted to generate multiple invoices you'd iterate through a
recordset of the customers in Access and create a new document for each,
based on the same template.
