How do I lock MS Word as email editor?

I recently loaded Student/Teacher Office version on new laptop. When
responding to emails i receive the message "This form requires Word as your
email editor, but Word is either busy or cannot be found. The form will be
opened in Outlook editor". I went into Tools, selected Options and Mail
Format, I checked "Use MS Word to edit email messages", clicked 'apply' and
"OK". I then closed down Outlook and the laptop and rebooted thinking this
will lock the changes. But these actions don't lock the Word as email editor
when I open Outlook again. What is up???

Starting 'detect and repair' asked to have the XP Student/teacher disc to be
re-installed which I did. Problem still exists in that when checking 'Use
Word as email editor" and rebooting, the check is gone and I have to use
Outlook as editor. Do I need to reload the XP "Content CD" from the XP
Student/Teacher?
