I'm taking a class and the book comes with a CD that has files that I need to
put on my computer. It doesn't auto run when I put the CD in. How do I
start it manually?

hi
just treat the cd as another drive and use excel's file>open>brouse to drive
and file.

With Windows XP, double-click "My Computer" on the desktop. This opens a
window listing (among other things) the different disk drives. Double-click
on the drive holding the CD.

If load means copy from the CD to your harddrive...

Use windows explorer (or my Computer) like the other poster suggested, then
select the files/folders you want to copy. Rightclick on any of the selected
file icons and choose Copy.

Then make a new folder (I would!) and paste those files into that folder.

And I bet that you'll have to remove the "Readonly" mark.

Select all the files (on the harddrive)
right click on any of the selected
choose properties
uncheck ReadOnly.

(Most files on the CD will get copied with that attribute set.)
