how do I limit trendline data

I have a sinple graph with data for 12 months plus a YTD line. When I set a
trend line it includes the YTD data. How can I only show the trend for the 12
months
 
Plot the 12 months data seperately (i.e., as an additional series).
Now, create a trendline for that series.
