When setting up an email account, I don't know which type of server to use.
My email is on www.gmx.at. Should i use POP3 or HTTP or another one?

So what does gmx.at say when you call them? What do their help web
pages say?

Unless it's web only it's probably pop, the vast majority of accounts are
and generally, if it's not, the user knows what type of account it is. If
it's a web based account, it probably won't work with HTTP as it requires
WebDAV protocol and that is only supported by exchange server (and
Hotmail/MSN).
