How do I keep safe messages from going directly to Junk Mail?

B

Barbara

Every time I see an email from someone in my contact list, or even from
myself with my hotmail email address, it pops out of the Inbox and is in my
Junk Mail box. I have set up the email address as safe sender and recipient
and say that they are NOT Junk mail and to always accept messages from them
but it does no good. They go back to the inbox and by the time I try to open
it, it's back in Junk Mail. This is very frustrating!!! I have Outlook set
up on two computers and it does it on each. I have the SPAM filter on the
recommended "Low" setting as anything higher would probably make it worse.

I also get [SPAM] on all of my emails that I send or forward. I don't know
how to get it to stop.

What version of Outlook are you using? Are you using any mail scanner
add-ins? What type of account?

That's not under your control. Your Outlook isn't doing it. It's being done
after the message has left your Outlook, either by your recipieints' mail
server or the mail clients they use.

An antispam scanner on one of the mail servers is adding [spam] to the
subject - it could be your server or the recipients.

Version of Outlook? If Outlook 2007, the recently released SP2 will add
information to the Infobar telling you if it moved the message. It won't say
what other program did it, only if it was it's own junk mail rules or
something else.

What type of email account do you use?

Does it happen if you start outlook in safe mode?

I am using Office Professional 2007.
When I look at how the emial is set up, it says HTTP and I use Hotmail.

This is something new in the last couple of weeks. It was working fine on
both computers then I shut down and when I rebooted, this started happening.

did you put hotmail on the blocked sender list? Are you using an antispam
scanner that could be blocking hotmail addresses?
