How do I keep old files from appearing in the search results?

I've deleted old and outdated web pages from the server, but for some reason
they continue to appear in the search results. When I click the file, I get
"page not found" erro (good since the page was deleted), but I don't want the
page to be displayed in the search results!

Open the live/remote site in FP and then run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks.
