I have a pdf file and I want to convert it to powerpoint. Any tips on how to
do this
Not easy to do. You can open a pdf in Illustrator or Photoshop, and save the
pages as jpg eg. But doing a whole document is a major pain, and you can of
course not edit them. And it's one of the ideas with pdf - that it's locked.
I read on rdpslides.com I think that "creating a pdf is like taking
vegetables, spices and water and turn it to soup - very easy. Converting a
pdf to ppt is like doing the opposite - pretty darn impossible" - or
something like that.
Antoher option is to use your snapshot tool in Adobe to
copy the selected graphics into PowerPoint. To get a
higher quality image, you'll need to enlarge your Adobe
view to about 200% before you copy and paste it. Watch
out for a large PPT file size.

If you have Acrobat (not the free Reader) it'll export a whole document to image
files of several types. Near as I can tell, you can't get it to do just a range
of pages, so if it's a big file, that can be sort of a pain too.
Beats pounding on 'em one at a time in Illustrator though. <g>
