Powerpoint to PDF

I have a colleague who is trying to convert his Powerpoint file to PDF file,
but when he converts it, instead of the file size getting smaller, it gets
bigger.

This file size is only 1.23mb in PPT format, but after converting to PDF
format, it becomes 2.5mb. There are photos in this Powerpoint presentation.

Is there any software or any ways to convert this Powerpoint presentation to
PDF format in a size smaller than the original Powerpoint format

Daniel,

When you convert to PDF, are they any options/properties that you can change
in your PDF maker software. You need to find something that mentions
'resolution/quality' of the images. Then set it to a lower setting.

That would be my first point of call.

In conjunction to what TAJ said, if you have the full version of Acrobat, you have the option to reduce the filesize which is found under Document >Reduce Filesize
