I wish to have students insert the file name in the header of the document
they're submitting. In Word 2003 it was an header option . I can't find it
in Word 2007.

In the Insert tab, click Header - Edit Header (or, double-click in the
header area). Either puts the insertion point into the header. To insert
the filename, do either of the following:

1. Press Ctrl+F9, type "filename", then press F9. (use "filename \p" if you
want the file location, too).

or

2. In the Insert ribbon tab, click Quick Parts - Field. In Field Names:,
select FileName, tick the "Add path..." option if desired, then click OK.
