I am working on a proposal in Word - I want to add some datasheets to the
back of the proposal for supporting information. the datasheets are in PDF
format. Is there a way to "import" them so that they look like they are part
of the document?

In 2003, I go to Insert, then Object, in the Create New Tab I select Adobe
Acrobat Document. It will insert like a picture inserts - meaning you can't
modify it like Word text.

Provided they are no more than one page in length and you have Acrobat (or
Reader) of at least version 7 you can insert them as objects. Objects cannot
span pages.
