The steps I used to hide my completed task were as follows, from the menu bar
select:
- View, current view, customize current view, filter, advance, then select
from the field drop down list "all task fields", complete (field), equals
(condition), no (value). Then select add to list, then press okay. This
filter will hid your completed tasks.

I'm having the same problem. I have been able to do what you suggest in the
Tasks view, but not in Outlook Today view. My "View" drop down on the menu
bar doesn't offer a "current view" option when in Outlook Today view. Any
other suggestions?

You can use those same steps to get the result you are looking for in
the view you are using by left-clicking the "TaskPad" heading. This
will open a menu that has amongst its options, "Customize Current
View". From there, follow the directions as above.

Thank you for responding drivegirl. I tried your suggestion. Left clicking on
the TaskPad in Outlook Today view doesn't produce a menu for me, but does
bring up what I am calling Task view. I can successfully change that (Task
view) to not include completed items. I am fully aware that I am very new to
Outlook and am probably missing something obvious.

I have found that completed items in the Today view drop off the list the
day after they are completed. So for now, I can get them to disappear either
by being patient and waiting a day, or by changing the completed date to
yesterday.

RIght-clicking, however, does.

Thank you Brian, but no - right clicking on what I think the TaskPad is in
Outlook Today view doesn't change the screen at all.

Outlook Today does not contain a Taskpad. I misunderstood what you were
asking. On the Outlook Today screen in Outlook 2003, your choices for
customization are limited wo what's available by clicking "Customize Outlook
Today", unless you write your own Outlook Today page.

Thank you, Brian for clarifying the misunderstanding (and my ignorance) about
"TaskPad." The limitation you refer to confirms what I am observing. I will
look into writing my own Outlook Today page at a later date. For now, I'll
live with having to be patient!

Thanks again.

I did this and I still see completed tasks. Seems to make sense
but...
Did I miss a step?
