How do I go back to IE6 from IE7?

Trevor

Have tried add/remove software ticked IE 6 the wizard completes but IE7
doesn't go and IE 6 says it cannot install as there's a later version
already installed. Running XP Pro SP2.

Well yes this is the problem I have already tried as below:

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Scroll down to Windows Internet
Explorer. Remove (Windows XP only)

But there's no entry for IE 7 to enable me to remove it.

Have tried all but Recovery Console as that sounds a bit advanced, as though
I may not be able to start the PC afterwards.

Spuninst is coming up as an invalid command.

This doesn't help because spuninst doesn't work and add/remove programs
doesn't show IE7

Then I'm afraid you'll have to format & reinstall Windows to resolve your
problems, Trevor. Good luck.

This is most unfortunate to read, Trevor.
Back-up as much personal data as possible and do a re-format.

Hi Trevor

I had the same problems with IE 7 I just uninstalled it and it went back to
IE 6 straight away.

Go to the ADD/Remove Programs tool in the Control Panel.
Look for Microsoft Windows Explorer.

Guys, please: Trevor is running Vista and IE7 cannot be uninstalled nor can
IE6 be installed.

This doesn't help because spuninst doesn't work and add/remove programs

I show it listed as "Windows Internet Explorer 7" in "Add/Remove Programs"
under Windows MCE 2005 (which is based on Windows XP, SP2). If you don't
have it in the "Add/Remove Programs" list, then there is no easy way to
remove it.
