How do I get the switchboard manager to work in an access project

I have created an Access Project which is hooked to an SQL database. The
Switchboard Manager option is grayed out. Is there something that prohibits
the use of a switchboard manager in this type of project?

Apparently so. I would suspect one reason for this is that the Switchboard
Manager generates one or more forms that interact with an Access (that is,
Jet) table. The trivially easy workaround is to create your own Switchboard
Form(s) from unbound Forms, and Command Buttons.

I've never been a fan of Switchboard Manager, because it is a complex
solution to a simple problem and, from the newsgroup posts about it, causes
as many problems as it solves. I'd been creating my own Switchboards with
unbound Forms, Command Buttons, and sometimes Combo Boxes since Access 1.0,
and after a look at the Switchboard Manager, continued to do it the "old
way".
