How do I get the Inbox to automatically refresh?

I have been working with Outlook 2007 and Vista for a few days now ... I like
it. Why can't I get me new mail to automatically show in my inbox? The Inbox
number grows but the messages don't appear until I manually refresh the
inbox???

Go to Tools - Options - Mail Setup - Send/Receive and make sure there is a
check mark next to "Schedule automatic send/receive every" and then adjust
the number of minutes to your liking.

Hmmm...I just re-read your post and I think I may have misunderstood the
question. I don't think my reply is relevant. You're receiving the
messages...just not seeing them right away. Sorry about that.

I am having this problem also. Anyone else having this problem or have
a solution?

I got this problem.
In my case what eventually worked was re-running the Office setup and
chosing Repair option (even if Office Diagnostic program did not find
anything wrong with Office).
Before that I tried other work arounds found on forums like:
- renaming some files (extend.dat and outcmd.dat and rename
them to .old) from Outlook folder in case Outlook 2007 was installed as an
upgrade from Outlook 2003
- disabling Google Desktop Search add-in for Outlook (from menus Tools |
Trust Center | Add-ins)
- antivirus may cause this problem too and its integration with Outlook
should be disabled
- Roxio/Sonic burning software may cause this issue too on Vista and there
are some keys in Registry that should be manually removed:

Hope one of this might help.
