How do I get security updates for a W98 Virtual PC?

I am running XP Pro and using Virtual PC 2007.
I have loaded W98 SE (IE 5.0) into my virtual machine, as well as Office 97.
When I go to the Microsoft to get the updates, the scan for updates starts,
and then I get an error that the page cannot be displayed.
About a year ago I had no problems with this process.
How can I get around this snafu? Is there a way to bring my W98 as current
as it can be?

As far as I know, your gonna have to go the Microsoft Download Center, do an
Advance Search for product "Microsoft Windows 98" and Category "Windows
Security & Updates".

Support for Windows 98 ended on July 11, 2006. No updates have been
released since that time, including security updates.

If memory serves Win98 came with IE v4. Your going to have to install IE v6
before the update site will work.

You are 99% right. Thanks.
The W98 SE CD came with V5.0.
In order to get the updates you have to load IE V6.0 (v5.5 may work?).
Case closed, and thank you all for your assistance.
IE 5.0 and earlier does not process the th Update Page correctly.
