how do I get rid of the unread message

every time i restart my computer i get a message saying that i have an unread
email under the user icon but when i go check my email i have nothing there
im using outlook 2003 its getting annoying i cant get rid of it

I've turned off that feature since it's inaccurate for things besides
Hotmail accounts (at least as far as I've seen). You can use TweakUI from
MS's PowerToys collection to do it
