Please help... I have tried multiple different ways to remove this text box,
to no avail. Whenever I open a new word 2007 document there is a itsy bitsy
text box in the top left corner of the page. Please help me figure out how to
get rid of this so that I can use word with no problems!!

Rename the normal template to oldnormal and Word will build a new one.

By default it will be a hidden file in the folder
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

If you're using Vista, it will likely be here:

D:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates

....and you're looking for normal.dotm.

If you're not using Vista and it's not where Graham indicated, then check
Office button > Word Options > Advanced > File locations... note the
location of User templates.

Glad you've got it fixed! Sorry about the D: bum steer. I usually remember
to change D: to C: when I copy a location to the clipboard for answering
questions here (I have Vista Ultimate on my D: drive, and Vista Home Premium
on my C: drive, and I usually boot to the D: drive)--but I forgot this time.
I'm glad it didn't confuse you too terribly much. (Note: your D: drive is
probably a CD/DVD drive... my CD/DVD drive is F:, since I have three hard
drives.)
