How Do I get rid Of Text Shadowing?

In Word, select the shadowed text, and click on Format | Font |
Font tab | uncheck the boxes for "Shadow", "Outline", "Emboss",
and "Engrave" | OK.

Thanks but none of it was checked to begin with. I even tried the shadow

Times New Roman Italic 14. BTW, it was sent to me that way in a Word doc and
I want to take the gray out. Thanks.

That doesn't sound like a shadow... it's more like highlighting
or shading. If the text is in a field, then click on Tools |
Options | View | Field shading: Never | OK. If the text is not
in a field, then see
