How do I get rid of startup screen of User names? SP2 seems to have slowed everything down...

Yes, I hadn't selected "DAVID" and that was the problem. Thank you
for that, it is now working SANS startup screen. Excellent, thanks for
your patience and help.

Oh my, all this for simply not following directions. In my post where I
explained how to set auto logon it reads, in part:

"3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer."

Maybe you needed to take a break from what you were doing, eh? Glad it's
resolved.
