How do I get rid of all the duplicate messages in Outlook folders

After re-installing Outlook 2002 ( detect&repair) and using the import
function under File, I discovered that I had several .pst files. Being a real
beginner, I imported the two biggest files. I also had to recreate my email
addresses and some elementry rules. I have two Personal folders now and many
duplicate emails.
So, if I am happy to just disregard the duplicate Personal folder ( it seems
to much time consuming to get rid of), can someone please tell me if Outlook
has a way of recognising duplicated messages recieved and delete them? Your
assistance will be most welcome, thaking you in advance

No, but there is no need to when you still have the original pst-files.
Reconfiguring your profile the right way will immidiately solve your
duplicate Personal Folder issue as well. For instructions see;
